Shannon Smith, PE, is a Water Resources Engineer with 20 years experience in both the public and private sector. Before joining Wetland Creations, Inc. Shannon served for seven years as a Water Resources and Project Engineer with SEH, Inc. engineering consultants. Shannon was the Water Resources Practice Center leader for SEH’s St. Cloud office. Shannon provided stormwater, water resources and permitting expertise for many projects in the St. Cloud region and throughout the state. Projects include Storm Water Management Plans, Hydrologic design for stormwater ponds and storm sewer systems, highway drainage design, Stormwater Utility Studies and Implementation, NPDES Construction Permit and SWPPP, Municipal MS4 Permits, Wetland Permits, and Environmental Documents. |
Shannon’s work experience includes five years as Project Hydrologist and Project Manager with the U.S. Geological Survey. At the USGS her project focus was in groundwater and surface water-quality research projects. Investigations include bedrock aquifer, surficial aquifer, surface water, and an oil-contaminated surficial aquifer study.
Shannon also worked six years as a Conservation and Project Engineer with the Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Joint Powers Engineering office in Mora, Minnesota, serving as an engineering partner with six central Minnesota SWCD and USDA-NRCS offices. Project experience includes: project investigation, survey, design, and construction inspection for many natural resource based projects: lakeshore and streambank stabilization; gully and slope stabilization; wetland restoration; agricultural waste manure storage; and feedlot runoff management.
